Swiss pics, five books and two bargains… #writing

It’s been a busy few weeks here in N.E. Switzerland. To start with, there’s the Lakeside Hotel series, which is now complete and up on Amazon – BIG thanks to DP Books for the gorgeous cover images. Number five, Wedding Bells at the Lakeside Hotel is now on pre-order at just 99p worldwide, so grab it while it’s hot applies here – and the other bargain is Stolen Sister, still on its UK Kindle Monthly Deal and also 99p.

The summer heat has arrived, but it took its time – not a bad thing; we needed the rain, but June didn’t exactly start out with swimming pool weather. A friend and I went to an exhibition of photos of St Gallen, all taken last century. It was fascinating seeing some of the places we’d walked past to arrive at the museum as they were back then.

These next pics are a walk we took up a little gorge the same day. It was what you might call steep, but it was lovely walking by the river as the water crashed down. A couple of hunded yards downhill, that river – the Steinach – passes right underneath St Gallen Cathedral to re-emerge further downhill and eventually empty into Lake Constance.

Last but not least, Zürich, where I met up with writing friends Louise Mangos, Christa Polkinhorn (over from the US) and Alison Baillie. As usual we had Prosecco at the ready…

Happy reading – don’t forget those two bargain books – and see you next time for some more book (and other) news from Switzerland!
