Hello everyone – and yes, the blog has come out of hibernation. I needed the blogging break to recharge my batteries after an intensive winter and decide how best to move forwards in today’s challenging book landscape. But summer has come in N.E. Switzerland, and it’s all systems go again. There’ll be 2-4 posts a month on my usual Sunday: a mix of book news, travel here in Switzerland and – new – book reviews. Plus the occasional guest post. So let’s start with some travel pics and leave the (BIG) book news for last (but definitely not least).
A few weeks ago, a friend and I spent some time in and around Basel. On the Rhine pic, you can see some of the big pharma companies in the background. In the middle, one of the amazing Cézanne paintings in the Fondation Beyeler exhibition (now finished). Plus an unexpected stork on the way back into town.

More locally, we had an old-timer event here by Lake Constance, with vehicles coming from far and wide. I caught the train pic when it steamed though on its way to the event while I was waiting for a normal, boring kind of train.

And the beavers have been busy too…

BIG book news now – I’ve signed with the amazing Vinci Books for my backlist Melinda Huber books (the Lakeside Hotel series) and possible further feel-good books. As far as the Lakeside books are concerned, the changeover will happen gradually from this week, to ensure that all the books stay available on Amazon. The books will soon have new covers, followed in time by audio, translation and new paperback editions. It’s exciting to be working with a dynamic, supportive publisher, and I can’t wait to see how it all develops in the coming months.

Coming up next on the blog, mini-reviews of two fabulous – and very different – books. See you then!
