Four beers, three books and a “snowstorm”…

Here we are in May, and we had several lovely summery days in N.E. Switzerland last week before the weather broke and brought us some much needed rain. But we’ll start with the book news.

The first two in my Lakeside Hotel series, Saving the Lakeside Hotel and Return to the Lakeside Hotel are now published by DP Books and the third, Problems at the Lakeside Hotel, is on pre-order. I think this one has my favourite cover image so far, you can almost feel the heat in the air. The action takes place over the summer, when hot heat combined with too much snow the previous winter brings a whole lot of problems to the Lakeside Hotel, and Stacy and Rico are run ragged trying to deal with it all. And as you see by the pic, it’s only 99p at the moment…

The publication date is May 23rd, so grab it at the bargain price while you can! You can see all three books HERE on Amazon.

On to the beers. Last week, I visited a microbrewery in St Gallen with the Anglo-Swiss Club. No one has ever called me a massive beer drinker, but it was fascinating to hear about the beer-making process and to see the cellar where it all happens. We were given four different beers to sample – I was amazed at the difference in taste. The first one smelled like lemons and mangos, though that’s not how it tasted. My favourite was the darkest one. Big thanks to Marco and Gianluca at Hermann Bier for a great evening, and to Rimini Piadinaria across the road who supplied the food. I had pesto focaccia and it was fabby-doo…

The “snowstorm”? The illusion was caused by seeds flying off trees on the lake bank – I think it’s poplar and also willow trees that do this. We get it to some extent every year, but I’ve never seen as much as we had last week. It really did look like snow on the ground…

That’s it for this time – don’t forget about that 99p preorder!
