This time tomorrow 2014 will be a thing of the past. It’s been a busy year for me with, as usual, highs and lows and funny bits and decidedly unfunny bits. Here are a few of my own more memorable moments… (like last year, it’s the minimalist’s version…)
Best moment: Holding The Cold Cold Sea for the first time.
Second best moment: Holding Winter Tales for the first time.
Worst moment: realising my new flat wouldn’t be ready till spring ’15.
Best family event: My niece’s wedding in Troon. She even organised sunshine.
Nicest surprise: In a word, Twitter. I was dreading it when I joined in January – but it’s amazing! 🙂
Best reads: Out of the Tower by Alison Gray and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.
Unexpected work: Choosing all the bits and pieces for the new flat. I’d no idea there would be so much of this…
Most fun: Meeting so many more new people on social media, being ‘one of the gang’, supporting them and being supported by them. 🙂 And – meeting some of them in real life too!
Best purchase: my kindle.
Holidays: Two working hols again this year, but enormous fun as I was able to meet Bea Davenport and Alison Gray at different events.
Nostalgic moment: Standing looking down into the outdoor pool (fed by the North Sea) at St Andrews between stock signings and remembering learning to swim there. (It was the coldest experience of my entire life…)
Hopes for 2015: health and happiness to my ‘family’, another book (I’m working on it), a stress-free removal (if they exist), a proper holiday and maybe, just maybe, another dog…
A huge thank you to everyone who has accompanied me through 2014 – I’ll toast you all tonight!
Lovely post Linda – sorry I’ve only just got to it!!
