Just arrived home from England, the washing machine is churning, so this is just a quickie for people who aren’t on FB:
Legend Press have announced my book 2. Here’s what they said:
Legend Press are delighted to acquire World rights for The Cold Cold Sea, the gripping thriller by Linda Huber. The book is a powerful and emotional novel, about the different and sometimes dramatic ways people can react to loss. The Cold Cold Sea will be a lead title for Summer, and will be published by Legend Press on 1st August 2014.
Lauren Parsons, Commissioning Editor of Legend Press comments: ‘We are delighted to have signed Linda’s second novel – her characters are intricately curved and written with an intense realism, which makes the twists and turns of her writing all the more disturbing.’
The novel deals with the disappearance of three-year-old Olivia from the beach, leaving her parents paralysed with grief, fearing she has drowned. The book shows that no one can underestimate the power of a mother’s love, and the extent a parent will go to to protect their family.
Linda Huber was raised in Glasgow and trained in physiotherapy. Her writing is heavily influenced by her experience learning about methods of behaviour and how different people react and deal with stressful situations. Linda now lives in Arbon, Switzerland where she works as a language teacher, based at a school in a 12th century castle. Linda has had over 50 short stories and articles published. Linda’s debut novel The Paradise Trees was published September 2013.
The Paradise Trees was described by fellow Glaswegian crime writer Caro Ramsay as ‘an emotionally intelligent thriller – a little gem of a book’.
I’m really looking forward to editing The Cold Cold Sea with Lauren! And to seeing the cover which should arrive soon now.
